ROYAL OAK----The new Douglas J Aveda Institute in Royal Oak, located at 409 S. Center, will open its doors and begin serving guests on Wednesday, January 2, Scott Weaver, President and Co-Owner of Douglas J, announced today. ÒThis is a wonderful way to begin the new year and we are very excited about it,Ó Weaver said. ÒRoyal Oak is a great city and we are thrilled to be part of the business community here.Ó
The InstituteÕs official Grand Opening event will take place Friday, February 29, Weaver said. ÒThis is a day that occurs only once every four years and we will celebrate it by hosting a very special, exciting gala and party that will be the talk of the town,Ó Weaver promised. More details pertaining to the Grand Opening will be announced in the future.
Weaver also said he is pleased to bring the Douglas J tradition of excellence in education, services and products to Royal Oak and the metropolitan Detroit area. For more than 20 years, the Douglas J Company has been committed to providing a well-rounded education to aspiring professionals in the Salon/Spa industry.

Guests at the Institute can choose from a wide variety of services including haircuts, hair color, skin care, make-up, nail therapy and several spa packages. All work is performed by senior students under the direct supervision of licensed instructors.
The Institute will be open:
- Monday (retail only): 9 a.m. Ð 5 p.m.
- Retail & services: 5 p.m. Ð 10 p.m.
- TuesdayÑFriday (retail & services): 9 a.m. Ð 10 p.m.
- Saturday (retail & services): 9 a.m. Ð 4:30 p.m.
