DOUGLAS J
GRANTS PROM WISH
FOR EATON RAPIDS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT
EAST LANSING-----Alyshia Schade wants her Saturday
prom to be the night of her dreams and, thanks to
the kind-hearted and talented people at the Douglas
J Aveda Institute in East Lansing, that dream will
come true. They have granted her request to have
her hair and makeup done for the Eaton Rapids High
School prom on Saturday, May 12.
Schade, 17, is a cheerleader on the school’s
varsity squad. She said she entered the Prom Night
contest sponsored by Douglas J and made the request
because “what teenage girl doesn’t dream
of the prom night in the most dashing gown and face
and hair glowing? I believe I should be a part of
that dream.”
Schade, who is one of three children, also said
that right now the family has other expenses and
“there isn’t a lot of money that can
be spread around” for prom expenses.
Scott Weaver, President and Co-Owner of Douglas
J, promised that Alyshia will enter the Douglas
J Aveda Institute, 331 East Grand River Avenue,
at 11 a.m. on Saturday and be treated like a princess
from the moment she arrives. “Her wish to
‘look beautiful’ for her prom is going
to come true right before her eyes,” he said.
“We are very happy to bring her dream to life.”
Schade said that being granted her wish “is
amazing. I believe it will help my self esteem for
the prom.”
