Second Annual “Bodies of Art” Fashion
Show Held April 13
GRAND RAPIDS-----Students at the new Douglas J Aveda
Institute in Grand Rapids will provide hair styling
and makeup for the models participating in the Kendall
College of Art and Design Second Annual “Bodies
of Art” Fashion Show, Scott Weaver, President
and Co-Owner of Douglas J, announced today. The
show will be held Friday, April 13, in the Imperial
Ballroom of the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, 187 Monroe
NW, in downtown Grand Rapids. The reception takes
place at 8 p.m. and the show begins at 9 p.m.
Proceeds from the show will go to the David Wolcott
Foundation for Grand Rapids Public Schools art programs.
“Our students are delighted to be a part of
this exciting and worthwhile event,” Weaver
said. “This gives them an opportunity to demonstrate
what they have learned and to help the models look
absolutely glamorous.” The Douglas J Aveda
Institute is located at 138 Commerce Avenue SW in
the Heartside area of downtown Grand Rapids.
Advance tickets can be purchased at Kendall College
of Art and Design and at the door the night of the
show. Ticket prices are: students--$5 advance and
$7 at the door; general public--$7 advance and $10
at the door. Donations also will be accepted the
