STUDENT RECRUITMENT SPRING OPEN HOUSE
EAST LANSING-----The Douglas J Aveda Institute will
host a Student Recruitment Spring Open House on
Tuesday, April 24, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., for persons
who may be interested in enrolling in the Cosmetology
or Esthiology programs, Scott Weaver, President
and Co-Owner of Douglas J, announced today. The
Institute is located at 331 East Grand River Avenue
in East Lansing.
“This is a great opportunity for prospective
students to come and see the Institute; talk to
the admissions and financial aid coordinators, instructors,
and current students; and learn more about the classes
and what a career in cosmetology or esthiology is
really like. We would love to meet anyone who is
interested, answer their questions and give them
a tour,” Weaver said. Light refreshments will
be served and chair massages also will be available
at the open house.
The next full-time Cosmetology class begins May
15 and a part-time class begins August 6. The next
full-time Esthiology class begins June 19 and a
part-time class begins May 7. A complete list of
the full-time and part-time starting dates for both
the Cosmetology and Esthiology programs can be found
on the Douglas J Website at www.douglasj.com.
The Institute’s Cosmetology Program is a
1,500-hour course in which students learn basic
fundamentals and the latest techniques in hair cutting,
coloring, styling, skin care, nail care, and makeup.
Through demonstrations, lectures and hands-on experience,
students will learn the professional and technical
skills necessary for success. They also will learn
about guest care practices and salon business systems.
Upon completing the Institute’s training program,
students will have the foundation needed to begin
their professional careers.
The Institute’s Esthiology Program is a 600-hour
course that incorporates beauty and wellness concepts
in a comprehensive curriculum featuring facials,
full-body waxing, body treatments, and make-up.
Students learn specialized techniques to purify,
balance and renew the skin. Through demonstrations,
lectures and hands-on experience, students also
will learn the professional technical skills necessary
for success. In addition, students will learn about
guest care practices and salon business systems.
Upon completing this program, students will have
the foundation to begin their professional careers
in the Spa/Salon Industry.
