Douglas J is currently looking for Instructor Interns in Cosmetology at our Ann Arbor, Royal Oak, and East Lansing Aveda Institutes
Instructor Interns will interview for positions and go through a 500-hour training program, at the end of which they may be offered employment as an Educator with Douglas J. The Instructor program is a dynamic, challenging, but rewarding experience that will leave the graduate with improved technical skills, as well as the ability to facilitate a classroom.
The Educators at the Douglas J Aveda Institutes are responsible for upholding the Douglas J culture and supporting the Aveda systems through community service, role modeling, and professional teaching methods. We strive to instill a polished, professional image in our students and provide an education that will be the foundation of their careers.
Qualifications:
- Polished, professional image
- Cosmetology License
- Leadership / Role Modeling capabilities
- Attention to detail
- Willing to grow personally and professionally
- Willing to work a flexible schedule
- Some supervisory experience helpful
- Must be available to work 40+ hours per week
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Facilitating classroom lessons
- Attend regular advanced training workshops
- Lesson planning
- Overseeing sections of the clinic floor
- Maintaining students’ grades, attendance, etc.
