Douglas J Companies is the proud new owner of the Aveda Institute Chicago. Douglas J is no stranger to the Aveda Institute business, though. The family owned company owns and operates 8 other salons and Aveda Institutes in Michigan, Illinois and Tennessee. Douglas J is also a part of the Aveda network of salons and Institutes.

Douglas J was started in 1967 by Douglas J Weaver in East Lansing, Michigan and is now operated by his sons, Scott and TJ Weaver. Doug started his company with a vision for his own salon based on three simple principles; provide an uncompromising level of service for his guests, create opportunity for professional growth for young people within the salon industry, and to give back to the communities that support Douglas J.
